Australia’s institutional childcare sector is in serious trouble. While expensive and short on places, the sector has been plagued by horrific sexual and physical abuse of children in their care by staff members. Parents are furious and the reworking of childcare arrangements has already begun for many. Could the voices of parents, together with some common sense, turn the sector around?
